Australia’s next generation of HealthTech innovators took centre stage on Thursday 23 July as LX Health celebrated the conclusion of its 2026 LuminaX HealthTech Accelerator, with eight startups pitching their ventures to a room of investors, clinicians, industry leaders and startup supporters on the Gold Coast.
The annual Demo Night capped off the accelerator’s intensive 14-week program, and this year’s cohort had a clear focus: building tools that catch problems early and tailor care to the individual. Across preventative health, sportstech, biotech and medical devices, the eight ventures on stage each tackled a different piece of that same mission.
Founders delivered two-minute pitches on what they’ve built:
- Hormone Tracking System – A daily at-home hormone tracking device that helps predict energy levels and guide life, wellness, and training decisions, putting the power of hormonal health intelligence directly into people’s hands.
- Exonova Biotech – Exonova is redefining the diagnostic pathway for endometriosis. The current gold standard is invasive laparoscopic surgery, a process that is outdated, risky, and costly. We’re moving the diagnosis from the operating theater to the pathology lab. By combining a proprietary biomarker panel with a high-precision analytical model, Exonova replaces surgical guesswork with data-driven precision, delivering a clinically actionable result and getting patients the right care years sooner.
- CARED – An Australia-wide allied health and care platform that matches people to the right clinicians and carers, and delivers services with clinical governance, reporting, and a seamless digital experience.
- Toralis Labs – Patient-specific surgical digital twins for vascular intervention, procedural planning, and device-risk insight. Toralis Labs uses AI-powered, physics-based digital twins to transform patient CT and MRI scans into personalised vascular models that predict device performance and procedural risks before surgery. By giving clinicians deeper insights into anatomy, blood flow and treatment outcomes, the platform aims to improve surgical decision-making, reduce complications and enable more personalised vascular care.
- Gild – Rebuilding healthcare payments infrastructure to enable compliant gap-only payments and automated Medicare rebate routing, reducing upfront costs for patients while ensuring clinics are paid accurately and on time.
- MyoIntel – We build athlete-specific digital twins that turn widely used team-sport data such as GPS and match-event coding into muscle-level workload insights for performance and injury management.
- Ketim Technologies – Developing the world’s first predictive blood test for postpartum depression, combining multi-protein biomarkers and AI to identify at-risk mothers during pregnancy, before symptoms begin.
- Sonorus – An impact-driven healthcare company building an AI-powered medical device to non-invasively screen for rheumatic heart disease, with a focus on reaching communities where access to diagnosis has historically been out of reach.
Since 2021 , the program has supported 61 startups, helping founders raise more than $40 million in funding while providing over 2,000 hours of mentorship, more than 100 workshops, and direct engagement with 15+ venture capital firms.
Klaus Bartosch, founder of healthtech venture capital and digital health studio, Dreamoro and LX Health’s Coach in Residence, opened the event with his vision for the future of healthcare. He spoke about the urgent need to shift towards care that is predictive, preventative and personalised, and the role founders will play in addressing Australia’s growing healthcare challenges. Bartosch also pointed to the Gold Coast’s rapidly expanding health innovation ecosystem and the role LX Health continues to play in building globally competitive HealthTech companies – a thread that ran through every pitch that followed.
Award Announcements:
The LX Startup of the Year 2026, presented by Dr Alan Parnham, was awarded to Brisbane-based Ketim Technologies, founded by Clarissa Yates, recognising the company’s transformation, execution and progress throughout the accelerator. Yates, holds a PhD in Clinical Neuroscience who turned her own experience with postpartum depression into the company’s founding mission.
The LX Fans’ Favourite Award 2026, presented by Invest Gold Coast, was awarded to Sonorus, founded by Julie Dao, whose pitch resonated strongly with the room. Dao, a 2024 Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia nominee for healthcare, built Sonorus around making cardiovascular specialist expertise accessible to remote communities that don’t have easy access to it.
The LuminaX HealthTech Accelerator is proudly supported by Major Partners Economic Development Queensland, Invest Gold Coast and QIC, alongside Industry Partners Griffith University, NRL, Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, and the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.
With another successful cohort complete, LX Health is now looking ahead to the 2027 LuminaX HealthTech Accelerator. Founders developing innovative HealthTech solutions are encouraged to register their interest and join a program designed to accelerate commercialisation, connect startups with investors and clinicians, and help bring the future of healthcare to life.
