LX is a leading Australian accelerator that provides comprehensive support to ten healthtech startups, including the investment, networks, and resources required to build globally successful companies.

Since launching in 2021:

LX has accelerated the growth of 61 Australian HealthTech startups. We’ve invested in select ventures, helped raise $40M, connected founders with over 2,000 clinicians, executives, and industry leaders, and offered guidance from experts in health, technology, and capital to accelerate commercial success.

The LuminaX Accelerator is delivered at Cohort Innovation Space.

Cohort Innovation Space, an Economic Development Queensland initiative, is a home for founders, innovators, researchers, scientists and students on the Gold Coast. Located in the Gold Coast Health & Knowledge Precinct, Cohort operates in 3 buildings with over 2500m2 of internal space with world-class facilities and innovation programs.

ESIC Certified Accelerator

LuminaX is one of only a handful of accelerator programs around the country to gain ESIC eligibility, meaning startups who are accepted into LuminaX Accelerator will gain 50 points out of the 100 points required to qualify as an Early Stage Innovation Company, unlocking significant tax incentives for early stage investors.

Through Economic Development Queensland, the Queensland Government have created Lumina, the 9.5h of development-ready land for sale in the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.

As landowner, master developer and planning authority, Economic Development Queensland are facilitating the development of Lumina over the next 10 to 15 years.

 

Invest Gold Coast Pty Ltd is the City’s investment and economic development organisation, driving growth and attracting investment to Australia’s fastest-growing city.

QIC is a leading investor & institutional manager specialising in diverse global assets, managing over A$106 billion in funds across continents.

The QVCDF, a Queensland Government program managed by QIC, aims to accelerate, develop, and enhance the venture capital industry in Queensland by investing in innovative early-stage QLD startups and attracting venture capital funds to the state.

Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH), opened in 2013, is recognized as one of the world’s top 10 hospital facilities. Spanning 170,000 sqm, it houses over 900 beds across seven buildings, with more than 70% private rooms.

GCUH delivers world-class tertiary care, offering services such as surgery, trauma, specialist medicine, maternity and neonatal care, aged care, emergency and intensive care, cardiology, mental health, outpatient services, and public health.

The National Rugby League (NRL) is one of the world’s leading professional sporting codes, known for its strong focus on athlete health, sports science, and performance. As an industry partner for LX Health in 2026, the NRL strengthens the program’s commitment to innovation at the intersection of health and elite sport.

The partnership supports technologies that improve injury prevention, rehabilitation, performance insights, and athlete wellbeing, with impact that extends beyond professional sport into broader healthcare and community settings.

LX Health is in the middle of the Gold Coast Health & Knowledge Precinct. What makes this precinct truly unique is its access to World renowned researchers, medical, health and AI experts that call the Precinct home. LuminaX participants benefit from over $5.9 billion in health, education and transport infrastructure already invested within the Precinct – including two light rail stations, Griffith University, the Gold Coast University Hospital, the Gold Coast Private Hospital, Smith Collective and Southport Sharks.
