LuminaX HealthTech Accelerator 2025 Alumni, GutGutGoose has announced their acceptance into the world’s most prestigious startup accelerator, Y Combinator. With the program receiving over 30,000 applications around the world and having backed companies such as Airbnb, Stripe, and DoorDash, the achievement marks a major milestone for co-founders of GutGutGoose, Leon Mojarrabi, and Anis Mihrshahi.
The Queensland-based gut health startup will relocate to San Francisco this June to take part in the three-month accelerator program, where they will present to an invite-only audience of approximately 1,500 investors and media at Demo Day. The program provides participating startups with US$500k in seed funding, intensive mentorship, access to leading investors, and a global alumni network of more than 11,000 founders.
Dren Xerxa, Director of LX Health, said the team’s growth over the past 12 months has been exceptional.
“GutGutGoose entered LuminaX Batch 5 with no product and no revenue. What they did have was a meaningful problem to solve and the determination to execute. Before accepting them into the cohort, I challenged the team to prove momentum by building something tangible and growing a waitlist. They returned with more than 120 genuine sign-ups, and that was the moment I knew they were different. Y Combinator is the perfect next step for a team that consistently delivers.”
LuminaX Coach Klaus Bartosch was assigned to guide the GutGutGoose throughout LuminaX HealthTech Accelerator. With his help and guidance the team now offer personalised, pharmaceutical-grade probiotics – developed from metagenomic DNA sequencing of your gut, matched across 300+ bacterial strains, and compounded in a TGA-licensed facility in Queensland.
As investor interest in healthtech continues to grow, LX Health remains committed to supporting founders solving critical healthcare challenges. GutGutGoose’s acceptance into Y Combinator further reinforces the accelerator’s ability to identify and develop globally competitive startups emerging from Australia.
