On Thursday 26 July LX Health hosted its largest startup pitch event at Miami Marketta on the Gold Coast. The highly anticipated event sold out two weeks in advance drawing nearly 300 attendees and attracting 260 livestream viewers. With industry experts, hospital executives, founders, supporters and 40+ investors in the room, the evening was buzzing as it marked the culmination of the LuminaX HealthTech Accelerator’s 2024 cohort. Wahoo!
Although the 14 week LX HealthTech Accelerator has come to a close, it’s not the end for the 11 HealthTech founders as they continue to celebrate some massive wins post program.
Each year the program has seen remarkable growth including a 30% increase in mentorship in the last 12 months. Over 400 hours of guidance were provided by notable founders such as Vu Tran – the co-founder of Go1, Klaus Bartosch – founder of Dreamoro and industry leader Maree Knight from Mater. These invaluable connections are expected to fuel the ongoing development of this year’s startups.
The commitment and effort that the 24 founders have given throughout the program is hard to fully convey. Participants journeyed from Melbourne, Sydney, and New Zealand to take part in carefully crafted workshops and rigorous mentoring sessions which kept them focused and on track to meet their LX milestones.
In the accelerator each startup was paired with a coach that saw them through from week 1 to week 14. Whether startups required technical advice, commercialisation pathways or global growth, each startup underwent assessment to understand their needs in the program. Team Silvia Pfeiffer, team Nic Blair, team Kelvin Ross and team Tim Walmsley dedicated several hours to support each startup till they hit the main stage.
With 11 pitches on the big night (and a sneaky Dr Corn), there were 3 special awards given out on the night.
LX Startup of The Year Award 🏆
The LX Startup of The Year prize was awarded to the most transformative and dedicated startup during the 14-week program, exceeding all milestones with x5 growth. This esteemed recognition was presented to the startup that has benefited from the available resources and made the most of the continuous support offered by LX. Congratulations to the Bloody Good Tests team who won the LX Startup Of The Year prize for 2024!
